TDK introduces compact SMT transformers with high dielectric strength for DC-DC converters

TDK Group (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6762) introduces the new compact EPCOS (EPCOS) E13EMHV series SMT transformers with high dielectric strength. The new series of components is suitable for a wide range of DC-DC converter topologies, with galvanic isolation distances in accordance with IEC 60664-1, 61558-2-16, a maximum operating voltage of 1000 V DC, a transient overvoltage of up to 2500 Vpeak, and a withstand voltage of up to 3000 V AC (50 Hz, 60 seconds) between the primary and secondary sides.
The B78308*A003 transformer has a size of only 12.9 x 15.8 x 11.4 mm, which can greatly save space, and the internal structure is compact, meeting the requirements of IEC 60664-1 standard (Np/Ns: minimum space distance is 8.14 mm, minimum creepage distance is 11.2 mm) on space distance clearance and creepage distance. hmi screen module

Among the new components, there are two types for push-pull and half-bridge converters with turns ratios of 1 : 0.22 : 0.7 and 1 : 0.33 : 0.7 flyback dc-dc converters, and three other types for push-pull and half-bridge converters with turns ratios of 1 : 1.07 and 1 : 1 : 0.57 : 2.14. Transformers are designed for frequencies ranging from 100 kHz to 500 kHz, coupling capacitances as low as 2 pF, and an allowable operating temperature range of -40 °C to +150 °C. In addition, the components of the new EPCOS transformer series are AEC-Q200 Rev compliant. The D standard is widely used in various DC-DC converter topologies and gate driver circuits in electric vehicles and industrial electronics.
